Aili Järvelä

The winding path of Aili Järvelä (1985) has been guided by various genres. Hailing from Finnish folk music town Kaustinen, Järvelä is known not only as a singer, but also as a songwriter, composer, arranger, violinist, producer, a pedagogue, and as a freelance musician in many different groups and ensembles.

Currently Järvelä is working mainly with her solo project, alongside working as a composer and as a musician-actor in Helsinki City Theathers swedish speaking stage Lilla Teatern.

Järvelä composed her first musical in 2023. Katrina musical will have its premiere on the stage of Lilla Teatern in January 2024.

As an arranger she has co-operated with Finnish top orchestras, such as Helsinki Philharmonic, Tapiola Sinfonietta and Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra. 

Järveläs solo album trilogy Lainattua, Sinistä, Omaa was released as three EP:s during 2019-2020. The latest, Omaa, got a five star review in Helsingin Sanomat, and it got selected to the critics year 2020 best releases -selection. 

Järvelä released her second solo album "Älä pelkää" in April 2023. 

Järvelä is also a member in folk music band Bergå Folk Project, BFP:s debut album got rewarded as the best ethno album of year 2022 in Finnish Grammies.
